Hey! I'm Ivy and welcome to my blog!  My plan for My ruffled life, the blog is for it to be a  journal of the transformation of our home, our attempted diy projects and living life as a family of six.

Nine years ago, we made a tough decision for me to leave my career at the bank and become a stay at home mom.  At the time, we had two small boys and a baby on the way, so staying at home seemed like the logical choice.  It took a little while for me to shift gears from being a working-mom to a stay-at-home-mom but I soon realized it was the best decision of my life! The baby on the way turned out to be our first baby girl followed by a second baby girl two years later making a total of FOUR Bingham babies(oh my!) Life has been crazy busy ever since.

Somewhere in between changing diapers, singing the abc's and scraping oatmeal off the wall I discovered a passion for home decorating.  I enjoyed decorating our first two apartments and making them into stylish homes and now were working on fixing up our first house.  We moved into our house three years ago (passed onto us by my parents).  It was built @1900.  It is small.   It has absolutely NO closet space.  It's a huge challenge making it work for a family of six!  She's definitely not the spacious house of our dreams but there's character and life inside these walls and were enjoying making her our own.

Our family includes (but not limited to) myself, my husband Mike, our boys, Nick and Alex, and our girls, Lily and Molly.  We have two cats, Mischief and Chomper (great protectors of the backyard!)  and finally a few pet rocks that enter into the family once in a while (the most recent is Sarah...the kids have ditched her but she's pretty and sparkly and I like her on the window sill!)

Thanks for joining us as we try to think of creative ways to add storage, attempt diy anything, and just simply live this crazy life!
